Abstract
934,325. Microphones. F. R. BEYER. April 9, 1962 [April 28, 1961], No. 13606/62. Class 40 (4). A wedge-shaped housing 12 for a microphone has fastened thereto at one end an internal support 30, and the holder 48 of the microphone unit 50 is shaped to rest on a flange 33 of the support with a resilient air seal ring 38 interposed. The housing, support and holder are all made of plastics. After the insertion of the microphone unit, the housing is closed by a dust trap 43 and apertured cover 40, the latter being held by a band 45 which extends around the housing. The microphone unit which includes a diaphragm 77 and magnet system 71 is closed by a base 57 above which is a damping felt 64 which may be compressed as desired by a screw 61. Downward projections 55 from the holder 48 carry a transformer 85. The leads from the cable 13 which is anchored in a hole at the narrow end of the housing pass to the transformer 85 and through side ducts to the magnet system.
