933,111. Reaping machines. A. B. ALLAN. Nov. 26, 1959 [Nov. 28, 1958], No. 38456/58. Class 6(3). A tractor-mounted mower comprises a reciprocating cutter pivotally mounted at one end on the tractor so as to be movable between a laterally-projecting, operative, position and an upright, inoperative, position, and a reel 9 comprising a rotary shaft 3 parallel to the cutterbar 2 and having means 11 to sweep cut crop rearwardly from the cutter, the reel being movable with the cutter between its two positions. The shaft 3 has radially-extending tubes 10 at its ends connected by serrated bars 11, the space between the tubes and bars being filled with wire-netting 12. The device is trailed behind the tractor T and is mounted on a beam 8 bolted, at 24, to the cutter-bar, the shaft 3 being journalled on a plate 5 mounted on an arm 7 pivoted to the beam 8 and resiliently supported by a spring 29 surrounding an arcuate guide 30. The shaft 3 is driven by a belt 15 from a ground-wheel 17 adjustably and resiliently mounted on vertical guides 19.
