Abstract
932,759. Counters for electric meters. LICENTIA PATENT - VERWALTUNGS - G.m.b.H. April 16, 1962, No. 14647/62. Class 37. [Also in Group XIX] An electric meter comprises a rotor 1 having two driving discs, means (not shown) for rotating the rotor in accordance with an electrical quantity to be measured, a permanent magnet 7 rotated through gearing 9, 10 and a shaft 6, and a switch 4 actuated by the magnet to produce pulses in a telemetering circuit (not shown) at a rate proportional to the speed of the rotor. The switch is mounted on a frame 2 for the instrument which is made of magnetizable material, e.g. iron, and the switch is located on the side of the frame remote from the rotor and its driving means, whereby it is substantially free from stray magnetic fields. The gearing 9, 10 may be of crown, bevel, or worm type. The electrical quantity to be measured may be such that either the speed of rotation or the angular displacement of the rotor correspond with that quantity.
