Abstract

932,480. Printing. POSTMASTER GENERAL. Nov. 15, 1960 [Dec. 18, 1959], No. 39211/60. Class 100 (2). [Also in Group XXX] Letters L being fed to a sorting machine (see Group XXX) have a mark simultaneously printed on each face by pads 31 carried on a spindle 25 carrying rubber feed rollers 22, 22. The pads 31 are resilient and are outwardly urged by springs 32. They engage, on each revolution, respective inking rollers 33, to which they impart a step-by-step rotation. Two sets of marks may be printed in succession (Fig. 8).
