A scoop f is mounted on the side of a carpet cleaning apparatus of the foam roller a type, so that when the apparatus is stood on its side (Fig. 2) and pushed over the carpet g, the scoop f will scrape dirt or foam h from the carpet. The scoop f is integral with the frame c of the cleaner head, and the handle b may be mounted at 45 degrees so that it can easily be used to propel the apparatus in either position, Fig. 1 or Fig. 2. Specification 931,993 is referred to.
