A unitary assembly of electrical apparatus of uniform polygonal cross-section comprises a plurality of components interconnected by conductors extending along two or more faces of the assembly, wherein the cross-section of the assembly includes at least at one point two or more components of complementary crosssection, each of the said two or more components having a terminal point on an edge thereof lying in or adjacent to an edge of a face of the assembly along which a conductor extends to the terminal point. The two-stage transistor amplifier depicted in Fig. 1 is assembled as shown in Fig. 2, the components being made in cuboid form of dimensions based on the dimensions of the largest components, i.e. the input and output transformers 1, 10. Thus components 2 ... 9, 11 ... 14 have one dimension in common with the transformers and a second dimension which is a sub-multiple (one-half) of the corresponding transformer dimension. W1, W2, W3 are wiring plates carrying external connections and providing connections between two connection strips 15, 16 (Figs. 4, 6) disposed on opposite faces of the assembly and carrying four rows of conductors for the interconnection of components. The strips 15, 16 may be boards carrying printed &c. conductors, interrupted where necessary by etching or cutting; alternatively, pre-cut lengths of conductive material may be secured on insulating strips having tags 19 therethrough, or a strip having a grid of punched holes through which the ends of the conductors can be passed may be used. Preferably the lead wires 18 from the individual components are brought out at corners which are chamfered as shown in Fig. 6. A face of the assembly other than those associated with strips 15, 16 may carry means for adjusting variable components or for thermal connection to a heat sink.
