Abstract

931,370. Conductor arrangements. CHRISTIANIA SPIGERVERK. Dec. 29, 1961 [Jan. 7, 1961], No. 46749/61. Class 38 (4). To equalize the currents in parallel bus-bar conductors feeding a high current load such as an arc furnace, a transformer is provided with two or more electrically separate secondary windings A1-A5 per phase each with the lead and return conductors run adjacently, the conductors or groups of conductors being magnetically coupled through n-m-1 current transformers, where n = number of conductors and m = number of secondary windings. The conductors may each terminate in a number of parallel flexible cables 51-58 the heavier current in the peripheral cables 51, 52, 57, 58 being reduced by reactors, which may be formed by cores 65, 66, having one or more air gaps, placed around these cables.
