Abstract
930,868. Lamp caps and holders. NETTLE ACCESSORIES Ltd. Dec. 8, 1961 [Feb. 14, 1961], No. 5393/61. Class 38 (1). An electric lamp-holder is moulded in position on a cable 2 or cables, having a metal braiding 5 beneath the external insulation, in which the braiding is removed from the portion of the cable where the lamp-holder contacts 10 are to be situated, and a metal strap 12 is arranged at the side of the cable with the ends of the strap being connected mechanically and electrically to the severed ends of the braiding at 13, after which the lamp-holder is moulded in position, all the metal parts being enclosed within the insulating material 11. The lamp cap is retained within a rubber skirt 7 by threaded engagement at 9 with a nylon insert 8, and contact with the cable conductors is effected by the use of pointed screws. Connection of the metal strap 12 to the severed braiding ends may be made either by binding the joints with copper wire and soldering or by forming the strap with tongues and crimping in position. Specifications 718,002, 755,647 and 801,055 are referred to.
