Abstract
A bi-metallic strip is made from austenitic alloys in which the side having the lower coefficient of expansion consists of 6 to 14% Cr, 5 to 30% Ni, balance Co and Fe, where Ni+Co =0.5 to 0.7x(Cr+Co+Fe), and the side having the higher coefficient of expansion consists of 11 to 25% Cr, 0 to 70% Co, 0 to 35% Ni, balance Fe. Both sides of the strip may be hardened by cold deformation.
