Abstract

930,193. Continuous casting-machines. CONCAST A.G. June 6, 1961 [July 6, 1960], No. 20353/61. Class 83(1). Short lengths of casting in a continuous casting plant with deflected guidance of the casting, are supported by a chain 11 which is displaced upwardly through the guide shoot 7 until it contacts the end of the casting 3, whereupon the casting is released by the extractor 5 and guided down by the chain through the shoot and the straightening roller bed 8 on to the delivery roller bed 9. The head 12 of the chain may be mechanically connected to the casting. The chain is mounted alongside the roller bed 9 until required, being then moved on to the bed by electrically actuated members 21, and moved upwardly through the shoot by positively driven rolls 22a, whose direction of rotation is reversed to withdraw the chain and the casting supported thereby.
