Abstract

The invention comprises a manganese alkylene bis-dithiocarbamate, preferably manganese ethylene bis-dithiocarbamate, stabilized by having intimately admixed therewith hexamethylene tetramine in an amount sufficient to retard decomposition of the manganese salt on ageing. The hexamethylene content is preferably from 0.2 to 5.0% based on the weight of the manganese salt and may be incorporated into the manganese salt by dry mixing or by addition to the aqueous slurry of manganese salt prior to its isolation as a solid product.ALSO:A fungicidal composition comprises a manganese alkylene bis-dithiocarbamate, preferably manganese ethylene bis-dithiocarbamate, stabilized with sufficient hexamethylene tetramine to retard decomposition of the manganese salt on ageing, together with an inert adjuvant. The composition may be in the form of an aqueous slurry of manganese ethylene bisdithiocarbonate formed during the manufacture of the manganese salt and to which the hexamethylene tetramine is added. Alternatively, it may consist of a dry mixture of manganese ethylene bis-dithiocarbamate and hexamethylene tetramine to which has been added other fungicidal ingredients or inert liquid or solid diluents and carriers.
