Abstract

929,017. Track circuit feed sets. WESTING- HOUSE BRAKE & SIGNAL CO. Ltd. July 15, 1960 [July 17, 1959], No. 24628/59. Class 105. In a D.C. track circuit feed set 16 for use in railway signalling systems in which only one rail 12 is divided by insulated joints 13, 14 into track circuit sections, e.g. section A, whilst the other rail 11 is continuous to provide a return circuit for an A.C. traction system, the direct current is derived from an A.C. supply via a transformer 17 and full-wave rectifier 19 and the alternating traction return current is prevented from interfering with the operation of the feed set by series chokes 22, 21, which form a high impedance at the traction frequency and a low valve shunt resistor 20. The resistor 20 is provided with an outer pair of terminals and an inner pair close to, but separate from the outer pair. The rectifier circuit is connected to one pair of terminals and the output circuit to the other pair.
