In a cabinet having a door adapted to be hinged alternatively at either side of the door opening the hinge means comprises a pair of brackets fixed to the cabinet adjacent the two upper corners, respectively, of the door opening, a movable bracket adapted to be attached to the cabinet adjacent either of the lower corners of the door opening, two hinge pins secured one to the movable bracket and the other to the fixed bracket which is located on the same side of the door opening as the movable bracket, and four apertures in the door adjacent to the respective corners thereof in which the hinge pins can be rotatably received, the procedure for repositioning the hinge axis at the other side of the door opening comprising the steps of releasing the upper hinge pin from the fixed bracket at the one side of the opening and securing it to the fixed bracket at the other side, releasing the movable bracket from the cabinet and attaching it at the other side of the opening, and engaging the hinge pins in the apertures at the other side of the door. Plastic bushings are fitted in the pair of apertures engaged by the hinge pins and flexible sealing grommets are fitted in the other pair of apertures, the bushings and grommets being interchanged when the hinge axis is re-positioned. The movable bracket is releasably attached to the cabinet by means of screws, further screws being used to seal the screw-holes provided at the other side of the opening.
