Abstract

927,916. Transistor bi stable circuits ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Nov. 24, 1961 [Jan. 5, 1961], No. 547/61. Class 40 (6). A two-state electronic device comprises a pair of saturable transductors which saturate in one direction or the other to determine the state in which the device is operating and do not change their saturation state when the energizing supply to the device is disconnected. As shown, the cross-connections of a bi-stable transistor circuit include saturable core inductors L1, L2 which saturate in one direction or the other depending on the state of the circuit. Accordingly if the supply to S1, S2 is interrupted the cores remain saturated in a direction corresponding to the state in which the circuit was last set, and the circuit re-sets to this state on restoration of the supply. The circuit may be triggered from one state to the other either by application of voltage pulses at E1, E2 or alternatively by reversal of a current applied through terminals E3, E4.
