Abstract
927,697. Filter presses. PROGRESS ENGINEERS Ltd. May 12, 1961 [Feb. 15, 1960; May 19, 1960], Nos. 5246/60 and 17624/60. Class 46. Rigid sheets 18 of perforate material or wire mesh which do not adapt themselves to the configuration of the surfaces of filter press plates separate the filter cloths 17 from the plate 10, 11. The sheets are formed with smoothlycontoured surfaces at their margins and also around the edges of apertures formed in them corresponding to the positions of bore holes (e.g. central feed holes) in the plates. The smooth surfaces may be provided by folding over the margins or edges and coating with a plastics or like medium, or by coating only, or by covering with U-section strips 20. The whole sheet may be coated. Specifications 795,167, 820,668 and 842,795 are referred to.
