A block of adhesive labels 2 are arranged asymmetrically on a backing sheet 1 so as to leave wide margins 5, 3, at one end and along one side and narrow margins 6, 4 or no margins at the other end and along the other side. This arrangement facilitates the printing of the labels whilst permitting economy in the use of the sheet material. The labels may be square, circular or oval.
