Abstract
926,094. Electro erosion. STOCZNIA GDANSKA. June 27, 1961 [June 27, 1960], No. 23277/61. Class 83 (4). [Also in Group XXVIII] A metal surface 1 is de-sealed by a mechanical impact tool 2, 4, an electric potential being applied between the tool and the surface. The tool comprises a rotor 4 mounted on a rotary shaft 8 and having peripherally spaced axles 3 on which are loosely mounted rings 2 which are moved outwardly by gravity and centrifugal force to impact the surface. Alternating current from a transformer 5 is fed to the surface and to a slip ring 7. Traversing means for the tool may be provided. Scale and other impurities is stated to be removed by impact, heating of the surface and arcing. Pivoted cylindrical weights may be used instead of the rings 2.
