In a rotor for beater mills comprising discs 2 arranged at intervals on a driving shaft 1 and between which are situated beaters 3, each having on one longitudinal edge a recess through which a pin 4 is guided, the recess is situated in or substantially in the middle of the longitudinal edge of the beater while the opposite longitudinal edge of the beater partially masks a slot 5 in the adjoining disc 2 in such a manner that the longitudinal beater edges and the opposite boundary edges 8 of the slots approach one another slightly towards the periphery of the discs whereby, as viewed in the axial direction, a space which narrows towards the periphery is provided for accommodating a wedge 6. The rotor is subdivided into sections A, B, the pins 4 in section A being situated in front of the beaters and the pins in section B being situated behind the beaters, in the direction of the rotation of the rotor. The beaters of sections A, B are offset relatively to one another.
