Abstract
925,969. Hatch covers. VON TELL TRADING CO. A.B. Oct. 23, 1961 [Nov. 10, 1960], No. 37847/61. Class 113. A ship's hatch cover comprises five sections 1-5, hinged together and supported by rollers or shoes 6-12 on the coaming. Each of sections 1, 3 and 5 has a pivot roller 21, 22, 23 which is preferably mounted on an adjustable eccentric and which engages a ramp 20 and tilts the section towards the vertical stowing position as the supporting rollers leave the coaming, Figs. 2 and 4. Sections 2 and 3 are of equal size, but are smaller than section 1, and sections 4 and 5 are of equal size but are smaller than sections 2 and 3. A sixth section (Fig. 5, not shown) may be hinged to the section to which the operating cable 25 is attached (section 5), spring means being inserted between the sixth section and section 5 to facilitate unfolding.
