Abstract
925,450. Converting. BUSH & RANK CINTEL Ltd. April 24, 1961 [April 22, 1960], No. 14191/60. Class 38 (2). Variations in the filament or heater current of the thermionic rectifier 5 due to changes in the pulse repetition rate of the timebase output valve 1 are reduced by an impedance 8 which either by itself or in conjunction with the filament resistance or in conjunction with a further impedance has a time constant which is large compared with the pulse duration. As shown, the impedance is an inductor. In other embodiments a capacitor (Fig. 3, not shown) or a capacitor and diode (Fig. 4, not shown) are utilized. In this latter embodiment the filament is preferably shunted by a Zener diode. The inductance 8 may be the leakage inductance of the transformer (Fig. 2, not shown).
