Abstract

924,360. Structural members. J. MARCHAND. Oct. 12, 1960 [Oct. 13, 1959], No. 34913/60. Class 20 (2). Floors &c. are supported on structures made from units each comprising a channel 9 having strips 4 cut in the web, with the ends still attached, and pressed away from the web, the strips being alternately on opposite sides of the centre line. The strip may be attached at one end only or both as shown. Two units are welded together to form a structural member by arranging the strips of one alongside the strips of the other and welding the crests 6 of the strips of one to the web of the other. These members may be connected in parallel relation by welding the flanges 13, Fig. 4, of a channel of each together, to form a supporting structure.
