In a refrigerator cabinet comprising an outer layer of thermal insulation material and an inner liner in contact therewith, grooves in the thermal insulation adjacent the liner carry water of condensation towards an outlet in communication with the exterior of the insulation. As shown, the outer housing 1, in which the liner (not shown) may be secured by adhesive, is preformed from thermal insulation material and includes a machinery recess 8 separated from the interior of the housing by a shelf 13 and a vertical wall 6. Grooves 3 and 14, at the sides of the floor 2 and the shelf 13 respectively, slope down towards a transverse groove 4, at the base of the wall 6, connected through an aperture 9 with the recess 8. A piece 10 of absorbent material passes through the aperture, while further apertures with absorbent strips may be provided adjacent the grooves, as at 15.
