Abstract

923,703. Motor vehicle radiators. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. Aug. 2, 1961 [Sept. 1, 1960], No. 28044/61. Class 79(3) [Also in Group XIII] A motor vehicle radiator assembly is resiliently mounted between fixed support members 20, 22 and 40, by interposed pads of rubber or like material 28 and 52 which engage recesses in the respective header tanks, to restrain movement of the radiator relative to the support members. These pads which are located in U-shaped brackets 24 and 42 by means of bosses on the pads fitting into apertures in the brackets, engage the recesses on three sides of each header tank. The upper bracket 24 is carried by a plate 22 fixed to a transverse brace 20. The two lower brackets 42 have down turned lugs 44 which are secured to a channel bar 40 by screws 46. Alternatively, two brackets could be provided at the top of the radiator and one at the bottom, or two or more brackets could be provided at both the top and the bottom.
