The gravity-seating seal-bars 18 of a sintering-machine pallet are each provided, adjacent the sealing edge 31, with flanges 33, 34 which prevent the ingress of dust &c. to the seal-bar groove 17 when the pallet is inverted. The seal bars are supported by pin and slot connections 19, 21 and end caps 28 may be provided for the seal-bar grooves.
