923,307. Mineral - mining installations. GEWERKSCHAFT EISENHUTTE WESTFALIA. Feb. 5, 1962 [Feb. 11, 1961], No. 4352/62. Class 68 (1). In a coal-winning and conveying installation the cutting and loading unit 11, 12 is stabilized and hauled along the face side of a face conveyer by a plate structure of three interconnected parts 13a, 13b 13c that extends beneath the conveyer and is connected to a haulage chain in a duct along the goaf side of the conveyer by a pair of bosses 14 secured to the outer of the plate parts and extending up into the duct. A chain 25 extends between the two bosses to distribute tensions between the extremities of the machine when under load. This chain carries a permanent magnet 26 for operating at the ends of the run switches for reversing the direction of travel of the cutting and loading unit. Floor-clearing blades may be mounted on the parts 13a, 13b of the plate structure.
