922,973. Sliding clasp fasteners. AERO ZIPP FASTENERS Ltd., and LIGHTNING FASTENERS Ltd. March 3, 1961 [March 12, 1960], No. 7827/61. Class 44. A string of approximately U-shaped links for a sliding clasp fastener are formed from a single filament of metal or plastics material, said filament being of either elliptical or oblong crosssection. The limbs 1, 2 of each link are connected to those of adjacent links by bridge portions 7 and 4 respectively, and the bases 3 of each link are twisted through 90 degrees in the regions 5, 6. Preferably, the string is made by firstly bending a filament into a wavy shape and subsequently folding the wavy-shaped filament about its longitudinal axis whilst simultaneously twisting the wire at the regions 5 and 6.
