Abstract

Pigmentary titanium dioxide is made by decomposing titanium tetrachloride in the vapour phase with an oxygen containing gas at elevated temperature in the presence of 0,01 to 10,000 parts per million of calcium, strontium, barium or cerium, based on the weight of titanium dioxide produced. The process is otherwise similar to that of the parent Specification. Specifications 707,560, 757,703, 776,419 and U.S.A. Specifications 2,253,551, 2,488,439 and 2,488,440 also are referred to.
