Abstract

922,560. Rocket motors. D. SEBEL & CO. Ltd. Aug. 24, 1959 [Aug. 25, 1958], No. 27257/58. Class 9 (2). Relates to a rocket motor as described in Specification 688,838 having an end cap 4 closing the rocket chamber 1 and a frangible diaphragm 17 clamped between a back plate 10 and the cap to close aligned pressure-relief apertures 9, 11. The back plate is of such a diameter that it is positively held by the cap and, to align the passages 9, 11, the plate has an opening 12 to engage a pin 13 projecting from the cap. To secure the cap to the casing 1, lugs 20 within the cap engage lugs 19 on the casing, the lugs being provided with cam surfaces which will not engage if the diaphragm is too thick. Screw-threading may be used in place of the lugs.
