Abstract

922,452. Motor vehicles. MORRIS MOTORS Ltd. Jan. 11, 1962, No. 1040/62. Addition to 889,123. Classes 79(3) and 79(5) [Also in Group XXXII] The motor vehicle power unit of the parent Specification is modified by the addition of an anti-vibration mounting 15 between the unit 1, which comprises a clutch, change speed gear and differential gear for driving the vehicle front wheels incorporated en bloc with the engine, and the extension 13 which houses the linkage from gear change lever 20 and acts as a torque reaction arm. The mounting comprises a flat rubber member 21 sandwiched between and bonded to a pair of generally rectangular apertured plates 22, 23 with flanges 24, 25 bolted respectively to the unit 1 and the extension 13. The power unit is supported from a subframe 2 by a rubber mounting 5 at one end and through a plate 8 bolted to the power unit by a pair of rubber mountings 6, 7 at the other end. The subframe 2 also supports suspension units 3, 4.
