Abstract

922,224. Spring lacing machines. VONO Ltd. May 30, 1960 [June 2, 1959], No. 18731/59. Class 52 (4). A spring lacing machine of the type described in Specification 859,163 has a fixed lower frame 13 and a movable upper frame 10 which may be adjusted by a worm, not shown, acting to rotate the threaded rod 54 in the nut 55 which is secured to the upper frame. The lower transporter shaft 16 is driven by the rod 19 rigidly connected at 20 to the arm 21 which is connected to the transporter shaft 16 loosely at one end and to the operating link 24 at the other end. The lower ejector shaft 17 is connected to the lever 26 which bears against the arm 28 of the limb 27 loosely mounted on the end of the ejector shaft and connected to the operating link 29; the spring-loaded handle 30 normally keeps the arm 28 bearing on the lever 26. The upper transporter and ejector shaft are coupled by racks 40, 41 and pinions to the lower ones, the lower pinions in the housings 42, 43 being rigidly connected to the shafts and the upper pinions in the housings 52, 53 are normally held in engagement with the shafts-by locking nuts which are unlocked to release the pinions so that they may freely rotate when the height of the upper frame is adjusted.
