920,341. Hypodermic needles. R. A. GLASSON. May 4, 1961 [March 9, 1960], No. 8379/60. Class 81 (2). [Also in Group XVII] A hypodermic needle having a mount 2, which may be of nylon, is provided with a protective cover, fitted over the needle and detachably engaging the mount, and both are enclosed in a sealed envelope 18. When required for use, the envelope is cut along the line 20 so that the amount can be fitted on the nipple of a syringe before the envelope and protective cover are withdrawn. In order to ensure sufficient rigidity for the protective cover it is proposed to make it from polyethylene tube. Instead of sealing the assemblies in individual envelopes, a number may be placed within a continuous length of tubing which is sealed transversely between adjacent assemblies, so that one may be cut off when required.
