Abstract

The method of the parent Specification in which fabric composed of thermoplastic synthetic yarn is heat treated by subjecting the fabric to high frequency dielectric heating employing a frequency between 50 X 106 and 500 X 106 cycles per second, whereby the heat generated in the fabric is concentrated at yarn cross-over points and the temperature at these points is above the yarn melting point so that the cross-over points of the yarn are welded together while the temperature of the yarn portions extending between the cross-over points is below the melting point, is modified in that the frequency employed is between 100 X 106 and 500 X 106 cycles per second. The subject matter of the Specifications is otherwise identical. Specifications 881,865 and 884,057 also are referred to.
