Abstract
919,139. Spark machining electrodes. DURACHROME Ltd. Dec. 11, 1961 [Jan. 24, 1961], No. 2756/61. Class 83 (4). An electrode for a spark erosion machine is chrome plated by the hard chrome process. The chrome may be 0.0005 to 0.025 inches thick, but is preferably 0.002 to 0.003 inches thick, and the electrode may be made of any metal, such as brass and may be formed by machining or die casting. It is stated that the wear rate for such an electrode is in the order of 10% of that for a conventional electrode made of a hard metal.
