Abstract

750,633. Making electrodes by electrodeposition of metal. DEUTSCHE EDELSTAHLWERKE AKT.-GES. Nov. 24, 1953 [Nov. 24, 1952], No. 32569/53. Class 41. [Also in Group XXII] An electrode in electro-erosion metal-working apparatus is produced by applying metal galvanically to a former shaped as the counterpart of the surface required for the electrode and then removing the electrode from the former. The former may be metallic or non- metallic rendered conductve and the electrode may be for the production of externallythreaded articles or for articles having cavities, e.g. die cavities, therein. The electrode may be of copper or precious metal and by, e.g., suitable choice of voltage during galvanization may be made porous. The electrode may be sintered before use.
