A winding drum built-in in a hoist cage has a hook-shaped member 5 which is adapted for the detachable hitching of the free end of the hoist rope 7. The latter is formed with an eye 8. After two turns from its attachment the rope passes between flanges 10, 12, into a main winding section of the drum. The flange 12 is inclined to conform with the helical laying-on of the rope.
