Abstract

956,742. Pulley blocks. C. U. MERIENNE, and LES PECHERIES DE FECAMP. Aug. 9, 1962 [Aug. 28, 1961; June 1, 1962], No. 30652/62. Heading B8B. A universally-mounted towing block for a trawler comprises a frame 1 (Fig. 2), carrying a pair of pulleys 2 and having a remotely operable jaw 3 for roving, which is pivoted as at 4 to the frame and actuated through an operating arm 5 also pivoted to the frame and provided with locking means 6, 7. Arm 7 of the locking means engages a projection (not shown) in the jaw 3 and is released therefrom by initial movement of the operating arm 5. The pulleys 2 are mounted on a plate 12, Fig. 5, which is pivoted at 13 to the frame 1 for assisting release of the ropes B1 B2. The flanges 2<SP>11</SP> may be at the outer faces of the pulleys (as shown), or may be arranged centrally to separate the ropes.
