Abstract
918,288. Pneumatic separating. STURTEVANT MILL CO. June 20, 1960, No. 21589/60. Class 117. Granular material fed at 6 into a closed casing 2 is centrifuged by a rotating plate 10, and air is drawn upwardly through the cascading material by a fan 34 whereby the finer fraction is carried upwardly through a rotary sizing device 33 and passes downwardly to a section 4 from which it is removed via a rotary valve 28, and the coarser fraction falls down an inner casing 12 to an outlet 18 having a rotary outlet valve 20. The classifying air is drawn into the apparatus through a conduit 30 and is discharged from a conduit 38 having a valve 40 which controls the outflow and hence the classifying action.
