Abstract
918,107. Mixer-settler apparatus. CERHA, K., NETREBSKY, F., and TESAR, A. March 9, 1960, No. 8296/60. Class 46. The heavier liquid in a liquid/liquid extraction column is fed in via pipe 4 while the lighter liquid is fed to the lower chamber through the Venturi pipe 8. Mixing takes place in the pipe 1 aided by baffles 10 and then separation into a lower layer 12 and a lighter upper layer 11. The lower layer is supplied to mixer 1 via pipe 3 while the upper layer overflows into pipe 1. The heavier liquid flows away to surge drum 13 while the lighter liquid flows continuously away via pipe 7.
