Abstract

917,919. Photographic print-out materials. NATIONAL CASH REGISTER CO. Dec. 1, 1961 [Jan. 25, 1961], No. 43045/61. Class 98 (2). Photographic print-out material comprises a sheet support coated or impregnated with a composition containing carbon tetrabromide and a colourless material which together form a colour on exposure to light. Suitable colourless materials are triphenyl methane dye derivatives such as crystal violet lactone, malachite green lactone and 2-(p-nitrophenyl)-4; 4-bis(p-dimethylaminophenyl) - 7 - dimethylamino - 3,1,4- benzoxazine; leuco methylene blue derivatives such as the benzoyl, naphthoyl, octanoyl, panisoyl and cinnamoyl derivatives; leucouramine dye derivatives ; spiro-xanthene dye derivatives such as N-acetyl-3<SP>1</SP>,6<SP>1</SP>-bis(diethylamino) spiro (2,3-dihydrobenzisosulphonazole- 3,9<SP>1</SP>-xanthene) and the N-phenyl and p-nitrophenyl derivatives of 3<SP>1</SP>,6<SP>1</SP>-bis(diethylamino)- spiro [1,2-phthalimidine- 3,9<SP>1</SP>-xanthene], and the dihydril ether of Michler's hydrol. The coating may include a binder such as gelatine or polyvinyl alcohol. The images obtained by exposure to light are fixed by heating.
