Abstract

1,157,865. Coated paper. FUJI SHASHIN FILM, K.K. 7 April, 1967 [9 April, 1966], No. 16138/67. Heading B2E. [Also in Division D2] A pressure-sensitive copying paper (see Division D2) comprises a support coated with a layer containing an amino-coumarin of the formula where R 1 and R 2 are C 1 -C 4 alkyl or aralkyl and R 3 is C 1- C 4 alkyl or aryl, with or without a leuco compound such as crystal violet lactone, leuco-methylene blue or benzoyl-leucomethylene blue. The compounds are dissolved in an oil (e.g. trichlorodiphenyl mixed with kerosene) and dispersed in an emulsion of gelatin and gum arabic. The mixture is acidified to produce capsules of gelatin and gum arabic around the oil drops, and these capsules are then hardened with formaldehyde. The support is coated with the capsule dispersion and then dried. Suitable amino-courmarins are mentioned.
