Abstract
917,793. Proportionate mixing of solids with liquids. PHILLIPS PETROLEUM CO. March 9, 1961 [March 28, 1960], No. 8624/61. Class 86. [Also in Group XXVIII] In a method for transferring subdivided solids, e.g. a catalyst, a wet compacted mass of the solids is formed in a confined zone 22 and then forced upwardly by fluid-pressure, via a conduit 47, into a stream of liquid 42 flowing at an angle to the flow of the solids, so as to form a slurry. A contact-flow orifice 44 is provided in liquid conduit 42. The flow of forcing fluid is regulated by a valve 49. Specifications 790,195 and 845,319 are referred to.
