Abstract
1,189,227. Valves. CHEMIEFASERWERK SCHWARZA "WILHELM PIECK," VEB. 7 July, 1967, No. 31334/67. Heading F2V. [Also in Division G3] A flow regulating valve comprises a member 3 which is linearly movable by a lever 5 to vary the length of the annular gap 4 inversely proportionally to the rate of flow, in the case of a constant viscosity fluid or the viscosity, in the case of a constant rate of flow of fluid. In the modification shown in Fig. 3, the linearly movable member 9 is of annular shape to define two concentric flow annuli. Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown) illustrate a further modification in which stationary member 8 is a hollow cone. Figs. 7 and 8 (not shown) illustrate the application of the valve to a chemical treatment plant handling polymer melt.
