An air heater comprises a casing 4 within which hollow heat-exchange elements such as tubes 3 are arranged around in communication with a water boiler 1 heated by combustion gases, air flowing through the casing and over the elements 3. In the form shown flue tubes 2 extend through the boiler from a combustion space 6 in which is disposed an oil burner 9. Circulation of water between the boiler and the tubes 3 may be by thermosyphon action or by means of a pump. The air is impelled over the heating tubes 3 by a fan 15. The boiler water may be circulated through a hot water space heating system or through a calorifier. Specifications 812,454 and 814,937 are referred to.
