Abstract
917,319. Air filters. HALL & KAY Ltd. Oct. 16, 1961 [Dec. 17, 1960], No. 43519/60. Class 8(2). Each of a bank of air filter units 19, Fig. 1, suitable for use in air conditioning apparatus comprises a frame 20, 21, Fig 3, over which is stretched filter fabric 22 so as to cover all sides but one side 23 through which filtered air is drawn by a fan (not shown) and which side 23 is held in sealing engagement with the peripheral edges of a vertical slot 14 formed by T-sectioned uprights 15 connecting upper and lower horizontal rails 11, 10 of a filter supporting structure which also includes a front and rear panel 13 connected by crosspieces. Vertical filter frame members 21 are of L-shaped cross section and that portion 26, Fig. 2, of the filter fabric 22 passing over the cut out portion is flexed into said recess by the stem portion 16 of the T-shaped uprights 15 when a tie ban 28 connected to a rod 29 secured to frame members 21 is pulled against a thrust plate 30.
