Abstract

916,254. Gas burners. PARKINSON COWAN Ltd. Sept. 28, 1961 [Oct. 1, 1960], No. 33777/60. Class 75 (1). [Also in Group XXII] An elongated duplex gas burner comprises a first trough shaped member secured to an upper generally flat plate having apertures therein to receive or form nozzles and a second trough shaped member secured to the plate to enclose the first trough shaped member. A flat sheet metal plate 1 is provided with eleven plunged holes 2 which may be threaded to receive nozzles and the flange 4 of a trough shaped inner metal member 3 is seam welded to the lower side of the plate 1, enclosing the three central holes. An outer trough 5 is seam welded at its flange 6 to the plate 1, the flange 6 being joggled at 7 to clear the flange 4. A spigot gas connection 8 for the inner member 3 is welded or brazed to the double wall formed by contacting parts of the members 3, 5 and a spigot gas connection 9 for the outer member 5 is welded or brazed to the member 5. The burner may be supplied with a mixture of air and gas. The ends of the plate are joggled at 10 to form locating steps.
