881,770. Gas burners. RADIATION Ltd. Jan. 6, 1960 [Jan. 20, 1959], No. 2055/59. Class 75(1) A burner head comprises a straight longitudinal ridge e having narrow transverse slots f, f<SP>1</SP> forming flames of batswing contour and the ends of the head are tapered in plan view. The slots comprise groups of large slots f and groups of small slots f<SP>1</SP>. The slots in the two end groups are inclined outwardly. The neck d of the head extends through an aperture in a base plate of a hot plate to connect with the end of a mixing tube and an annular skirt of curved cross-section is secured to the neck d to prevent spillage from passing through the aperture in the base plate.
