A sine protractor comprises a base 1 formed of two parallel flat bar members secured together at one end 5 with the interposition of a spacing member and a third flat bar 2 of constant width forming a moving arm which is pivoted to the opposite end of base 1 about an axis 3 perpendicular to the plane of each bar so that the arm 2 is pivotable between the two members of the base, the moving arm 2 having each end rounded to a semi-circle of radius equal to half its width, the centres of such semi-circles being spaced apart a known distance L and one centre 3 forming the pivot centre of the movable arm.
