Abstract
916,221. Automatic control systems. ZAVODY V. I. LENINA PLZEN, NARODNI PODNIK. Feb. 17, 1959 [Feb. 18, 1958], No. 5405/59. Class 38 (4). [Also in Group XL (b)] In a system in which the intensity of a source of radiation 1 is controlled by an unspecified detector 2 the output of which is compared with a fixed reference quantity 5 to provide an error signal effecting the regulation; the intensity is made to follow an unspecified programme by moving the detector 2 relative to the source 1 by a servomotor 3 controlled by an unspecified device 4. Thus, moving the detector away from the source will cause the intensity to be increased, and vice versa. The output of the detector 2 may also be varied directly in accordance with the programme in an undisclosed manner. If the error signal is large, the programmed movement of the detector may be slowed down in an undisclosed manner. The intensity of the source 1 may be controlled either by moving the source or screening it. The source may be a nuclear reactor, uranium fission products, or a heated body. Specifications 914,178 and 916,222 are referred to.
