[Also in Group XIII] To maintain the under floor space of a building dry and free from rot and heat loss it is sealed from the exterior and subjected to force air circulation. In one modification, Fig. 1 (not shown), an impellor which may have air drying and heating means, draws air from the space beneath one room and forces it into the space beneath another room from whence it passes by holes in a dividing wall back to the first space, the air bricks in the external walls being closed by removable plates. To provide ventilation in the rooms vent boxes may connect the spaces below the floor to the rooms above the floor and the inlet of the impellor may be connected to a room. In Fig. 2 the impellor 31 forces air along a pipe 32 to the space opposite an opening 26 in a dividing wall 21 to circulate it in spaces 22, 23 beneath corresponding rooms, air being withdrawn again at 30 by the impellor. In a modification of this construction, Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown), for ventilating the rooms the impellor inlet is connected to one of the rooms and the rooms are connected to the underfloor spaces by vent boxes having adjustable louvres and a ventilator is provided in the dividing wall between the rooms. The impellor, Fig. 4, comprises a fan 39 which blows air round a heatexchanger tube 42 heated by a burner 45, and out of a discharge opening 44.
