Abstract

914,357. Vapour burners. TALLENT (AYCLIFFE) Ltd. June 3, 1960 [July 27, 1959], No. 25741/59. Class 75 (1). A vapour burner comprises two perforated shells A, B forming a combustion chamber, a main shroud D surrounding the perforated shells and an auxiliary shroud 20 surrounding the part of the burner below the main shroud and forming with the main shroud an air channel not substantially greater in size than the minimum required for adequate flow of air under normal operating conditions. The upper end of the auxiliary shroud 20 is inside the lower end of the main shroud, but an outer ring 26 secured to the auxiliary shroud and disposed outside the lower end of the main shroud may be provided. The underside of the burner is provided with a tray 22 with a forwardly projecting lip 23 forming an air inlet. The lip 23 may be extended upwardly to form a flap 25.
